Browsing your Backup Image to recover an individual file or directory There are times when, by accident, a file is deleted or overwritten, resulting in the loss of the information you cherish. Restoring your entire Drive C: simply to recover a few files or a directory can be extreme and in many cases unnecessary. DriveImage XML allows for the ability to browse a backup image and to selectively restore single files and directories without having to restore the entire backup image. In the following example, we will overwrite a document with incorrect data and then save it, resulting in the original content being lost. Thanks to DriveImage XML, our file will be completely recoverable! |
As you can see in the middle of the screen, I have a text file named Important Document and beside the icon I have it open to display the contents |
I will go ahead and rewrite the contents to something other then what was there before and save it. |
