Adding a Host |
A. The Enable Checkbox ensure EZHostCheck polls this host during it's monitoring routine. If you want to add a host, but not have it in the monitoring line up for the time being, you can go ahead and add all the details for the host, but simply uncheck this box so that EZHostCheck won't poll it. B. This is the name you wish to know the entry as. Names must be unique between entries. (ie. My Mail Server, The Web Site, etc) C. Here you pick if you want to monitor the service via TCP or ICMP (aka Ping). If you choose TCP, you must then pick a TCP port number that the service you want to monitor is listening on (ie. SMTP is 25, HTTP is 80 , etc). D. This is the network address of your host you want to monitor. You can supply the IP address (ie. 192.168.200.6) or Hostname (ie.www.domain.com) E. If you have configured and enabled Email and Audio alerts in the Setup screen, these options will become available for you to select. Let me say this again so it is not so under the radar. Before these selections become available, you need to enable and configure these alerts within the Setup screen |
